故事情节很简单，简单的能让在看到一半的时候就能猜到接下来会发生什么。秋田犬小八在运输途中丢失，被教授帕克带回家收养，在此期间人和狗建立起了亲密的情谊。在小八长大后，它每天都会定时送帕克到小镇上的车站并且在帕克返回之前在车站门前守候。当帕克去世后，小八却依然坚守，默默等待着主人帕克，而这一等就是十年。

十年，我想一条狗的寿命估计也就差不多这么长时间吧，它几乎把一生都“浪费”在了等待上，这等待在正常人看来几乎是脑残式的。没有人能把它带走，无论是女主人公还是帕克的女儿，小八就认定了帕克这个主人，真的好像命中注定一样。试想，如果小八没有在运输途中丢失，它是否能有着一段刻骨铭心的人与狗的情谊?

之前很好奇为什么都没有人阻止小八的举动，甚至连教授的女儿都主动把小八放走，我想在这一点上他们体现了对小八的尊重，也许更多的是对小八对主人的那种忠的尊重，这种忠实在太让人震撼，也正是这种忠让小八坚持了十年，无论刮风下雨。也许用信念一词放在这里更好，对主人会回来的信念，最终在小八临死之前，它感受到了有主人相伴的那种快乐，在快乐中老去。

除了故事情节外，电影的表现手法也烘托出了感人的气氛，气候的变化，背景音乐以及各种各样的细节描写都更好地表现了。影片前半部分感受到的是人与狗的浓浓真情，很轻松，很美好也很温馨，在帕克死后基调改变，伤感，失落，悲凉。在短短一个半小时内能把这种如此大的变化表现的淋漓尽致，不得不说是一部伟大的作品。

当然，这是一个真实的故事，如果以后有幸去日本，可以去下东京的涩谷车站看看，那里竖立着一只狗，长年等候着主人的归来，直到永远。
